Shan Haugabrook has been involved in the association management and nonprofit industry for over 10 years and is currently the Director of Membership for the third-largest local apartment association in the country, the Atlanta Apartment Association (AAA). She oversees the daily operations of the Membership Department while managing the Association’s largest committee of 150 volunteers in an annual goal-based renewal and recruitment membership drive.
She also spearheads two new Membership Department initiatives as part of the Association’s strategic plan to enhance member engagement through innovative communications and proactive outreach. Previously, she served as the Director of Membership, Education and
Administrative Services for the Georgia Nurses Association for 6 years. She was responsible for managing the Association’s largest non-dues revenue education program that generated over $1.2 million dollars annually. Shan is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), the Georgia Society of Association Executives (GSAE), and Toastmasters International. She is the 2020 GSAE Sharon Hunt Emerging Leader Award recipient and a graduate of the 2015-2016 GSAE Leadership Academy. Shan also serves in several volunteer roles within her local community. Working in the industry is not just a job for Shan. She is passionate and true to her personal and professional mission: “A compassionate leader with a desire to lead by serving others, inspiring organizations and individuals to reach their full potential; while fostering meaningful relationships.”
