Janice Haskins joined the American Psychological Association (APA) in October 2016 and is responsible for the development and leadership of the newly formed Leadership Development Institute at the APA which includes APA’s flagship leadership development, training, and mentoring programs. She is the most recent senior director of the Minority Fellowship Program (MFP) and is responsible for the administration of the overall program, including the Recovery to Practice Initiative as well as the vision and mission of MFP. Haskins works closely with federal funding agencies and advisory committees regarding policy decisions and serves as a liaison for MFP's relationships with other internal and external stakeholders.
She continues to teach as adjunct faculty for Grand Canyon University and recently for Pepperdine University Online. She demonstrates her commitment to supporting and developing the next generation of scholars of color in her work on the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology’s Committees for Ethnic and Minority Affairs and Education and Training mentorship subcommittee. Haskins is also a member of Blacks in I/O Psychology and is the 2023 Chair for the scholarship and awards committee. In 2021 Haskins joined the Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Clinical Workforce (IECMH) Diversity Collective to contribute her expertise on diversification of the behavioral health workforce. She continues to contribute to the ongoing work of the collective. As a committed organizational psychologist, she contributes to APA’s Future of Work workgroup which focuses on APA’s future of work and psychology in the workplace initiatives.
Haskins received her Batchelor’s in Social and Behavioral Sciences in 2000 from Arizona State University and her Master’s in Psychology in 2009 from the University of Phoenix. She completed her PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology in 2020 from Grand Canyon University.
