Jakeeva Lee is Manager of External Affairs for the Chicago Association of REALTORS (CAR). In this role, she oversees several of the association’s special interest groups. Since 2015, she has managed the successful launch and duties of the CAR Industry Partnership program and Diversity Committee. She is also the staff liaison for the Global Real Estate Council, of which she implemented new strategies to elevate the committee to platinum level status (as recognized by the National Association of REALTORS). She also manages the CAR Foundation Board of Trustees, which provides over $140,000 in scholarships and charitable giving, annually. Additionally, as staff liaison to the CAR Young Professionals Network in 2016, she helped lead the win for the “Large Network of the Year” award.
In 2019, she was contracted as the Manager, Industry & Global Relations for the state association, Illinois REALTORS®. In this role, she oversees 17 partnerships within the Industry & Diversity Partners program and Global Business Council, statewide.
For over a decade, Jakeeva has spent her career in membership driven and association-based organizations. Her passion especially seeks to advance diverse, multicultural and inclusion engagement efforts in associations. In her previous role, Jakeeva interned at the Union League Club of Chicago, of which she was soon hired as the Member Events Coordinator. In this capacity, she served as the key staff liaison to the Real Estate Club, Lawyers Group, Toastmasters, Fin, Fur & Feather, Golf Club and Family & Sports Activities.
Jakeeva received her B.S., in Finance, with a minor in Business Management from Roosevelt University. She holds the At Home with Diversity certification (AHWD), Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designation and is currently working towards her Certified Association Executive (CAE) certification. She is a member of the Metropolitan Board of the Chicago Urban League, Chicago Council of Global Affairs, enjoys volunteering with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago and her church.
In her spare time, Jakeeva enjoys beach vacations, writing poetry, spa-days and being the best “Auntie Kee Kee” to her three nieces and nephew.
