The Embedding Foresight into Your Association course is designed for professionals who have completed Course 1: Applying Foresight to Strategy and Operations and are eager to advance their foresight training. This course offers practical skills and knowledge to embed foresight practices within your organization, facilitating transformational change and effective communication of future visions. Delivered in four 90-minute live virtual sessions over four weeks, it fits seamlessly into busy schedules.

Sue Pine, FASAE, CAE, Strategic Advisor – is a seasoned association professional and international speaker. Sue’s 40-year career has allowed her to work closely with a variety of associations, many managed by association management companies.
Sue is a frequent speaker at ASAE, AMC Institute, and a variety of ASAE State Society meetings. Sue is an ASAE trained facilitator of the ASAE Certificate in Association Management. She is a subject matter expert on the practice of Foresight & AMC Best Practices and Accreditation program.
As a Past Chair of the ASAE Research Committee (2008), Sue was actively involved in the “Designing Your Future” trends project. Sue also chaired the original ASAE ForesightWorks Advisory Group (2017). Sue is a huge fan of the ASAE Research Committee and strong advocate for the need to incorporate foresight as a leadership competency required by key leaders of association staff teams and volunteer leaders. Sue furthered her training by attending the University of Houston Certificate in Strategic Foresight program.

Hannes Combest, FASAE, CAE
Hannes Combest, FASAE, CAE was named as Chief Executive Officer for the National Auctioneers Association beginning in June of 2008 and retired to explore other opportunities in the fall of 2021. After her departure, the NAA Board of Directors named her as NAA’s first (and only) CEO Emeritus. At that time, she formed a company with Bob London, FASAE, CAE called Governance Directions - designed to provide strategic planning services focused on foresight to associations. Prior to her work at NAA, she served members of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America for more than 12 years in various capacities. She has a master’s degree from Baker University and is a Certified Association Executive. Hannes is active in the American Society of Association Executives. She currently serves as past chair of the Individual Awards Committee for ASAE. She is a past president of the Kansas City Society of Association Executives. In 2018, Hannes was inducted as an ASAE Fellow. She also holds a certificate in Strategic Foresight from the University of Houston and was accepted into membership of the Association of Professional Futurists in 2021.
