ASAE Names Nancy Green as Chief Operating Officer
WASHINGTON— Nancy Green, FASAE, CAE, will join ASAE as chief operating officer, effective November 8, 2021, ASAE President and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE, announced today.
Green has more than 25 years of association and nonprofit leadership experience, most recently serving as chief global learning and strategy officer for ASIS International, the world’s largest professional membership organization for security professionals. In this role, Green worked with the ASIS Board and staff to implement a multi-year strategic framework and annual business plan, oversee multiple departments including events and publishing, and build an organization-wide content strategy, which meshes well with ASAE’s needs, Mason said.
“ASAE is excited to bring in an association leader of Nancy’s caliber to help us continue to implement our new strategy, grow our learning and content offerings and improve our operational efficiencies,” Mason said. “This is a role that is absolutely critical to ASAE’s continued evolution. Nancy’s expertise and proven track record of managing successful teams and achieving bottom-line results make her the ideal person to take on this opportunity.”
As chief operating officer, Green will be responsible for ASAE operations, learning, meetings, credentialing and other revenue-generating programs and services. ASAE’s strategic direction is aligned around three key goals: to deeply understand and serve the needs of association CEOs and C-Suite leaders; to build meaningful community through omni-channel platforms and events; and to create leadership pathways for association professionals. In her role as COO, Green will help ASAE develop new business models that create new value for stakeholders.
“I couldn’t be more excited to contribute to the success of ASAE at this important turning point,” Green said. “To be able to bring decades of association experience and my passion for the profession to this chief operating officer role is an absolute thrill. I look forward to working in partnership with President and CEO Michelle Mason and the staff team to advance the profession and build the programs and services members and leaders have come to expect.”
Prior to ASIS, Green was an executive recruiter in the Washington, DC, office of Vetted Solutions. Green also has successfully led associations as chief executive, serving as interim chief executive officer for the American Industrial Hygiene Association, and executive director of the National Association for Gifted Children. Green has also held senior leadership roles with the American Occupational Therapy Association; The Center for Association Leadership, The Greater Washington Society of Association Executives (GWSAE); and ASAE.
