ASAE’s 2021 Marketing, Membership & Communications Conference Attracts Hundreds of First-Time Attendees to Learn How to “Do Big Things”

June 15, 2021

WASHINGTON—ASAE’s virtual Marketing, Membership, & Communications Conference (MMCC) June 2-4, 2021, was attended by a strong mix of association professionals, industry partners, speakers, press, and vendors. Over forty-six (46) percent of registrants for this year’s MMCC were first-time attendees. The final attendance breakdown of 761 overall registrants included: 475 association professionals (includes 69 small-staff org members), 127 Industry Partners, 72 speakers of various designations, and 87 others including press, vendors, and staff. Additionally, there were 30 industry partner companies that participated in various registration & conversation packages, Insider Day demos, and Solution Chats, along with engagement through thought leadership supporter packages, such as the session tracks and keynotes. The ratio of buyers to sellers was 81 percent buyers to 19 percent sellers.

MMCC presentations and events fell under the headlines “Do Big Things,” “Lead Big Tasks,” “Take Big Steps,” and “Have Big Ideas,” in response to the rapid changes over the past year and the possibilities for great campaigns being bigger than ever. The virtual event kicked off with a keynote from Erica Dhawan, best-selling author and leading authority on collaboration and innovation. She brought to life how Connectional Intelligence is turning people into “superconnectors” who accelerate innovation, break down silos, and foster breakthrough bottom-line impact by harnessing the power of networks. She also shared tactics to address communication overload and foster authentic, innovation-driving relationships.

The keynote presentation was followed by a series of MMCC Solutions Chats featuring conversations from expert industry partners and four PivotFest conversations with industry partners who discussed success stories of helping client pivots their business offerings in the midst of uncertainty. The new MMCC Solution Center featured five business-focused hubs for attendees to collect resources, share ideas, and chat based on job function or interest. Allen Gannett, best-selling author and Founder and CEO of TrackMaven, closed the event with a keynote on how flashes of genius happen and how to increase your odds of having one. MMCC Insider Day, held June 2nd, was an opportunity for 13 companies to showcase demos of their solutions and the latest technologies to increase productivity.

“MMCC was filled with the sharing of inspiring ideas, case studies, and new solutions and tools to help organizations and professionals take big leaps forward. We are thankful to our speakers, attendees, and partners who provided information, value, and depth to the conversations and services experienced by everyone throughout the conference,” said Robb Lee, Chief Strategy Officer, ASAE.

All registrants for MMCC will have access to the eShow virtual platform and sessions on-demand through June 30. For details visit: https://mmcc.asaecenter.org/.
