ASAE Foundation Announces 2020 Centennial Research Initiative, Firms Selected to Collaborate on Multi-Year Project

WASHINGTON—Leading up to ASAE’s 100-year anniversary, ASAE Foundation has launched a multi-year research initiative that will showcase some of the contributions associations make to society. Integral to this effort will be an expansive body of research aimed at measuring the impact and influence associations have related to workforce development, education, economy, member engagement, and change management. Research firms WESTAT and McKinley, along with digital agency Social Driver, will collaborate with the ASAE Foundation on aspects of data-collection, analysis, interpretation, dissemination, and engagement of the findings.

ASAE Names the 2018-2020 DELP Class

WASHINGTON—ASAE has chosen the 12 scholars for the 2018–2020 Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP) class. DELP is a two-year program that supports individuals from under-represented identity groups to advance into the ranks of leadership in the association management profession. DELP scholars participate in an accelerated leadership program of education, mentoring, and volunteer service in the association community.

Participants took part in 40 education sessions, two keynotes, and three preconference workshops at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Total attendance this year was 947.

ASAE had five 25-minute Main Stage speakers, hosted by Choose Chicago, and introduced new design features including: Learning Circles, Braindates, and an offsite Leadership Intensive. ASAE had a total of 593 in attendance.

WASHINGTON—ASAE launches the call for association professionals and industry partners to apply for open positions on the ASAE and the ASAE Foundation Board of Directors to help lead the association dedicated to furthering the profession of association management. There are six open positions: Secretary-Treasurer and five At Large Directors (four At Large and one Industry Partner). All directors selected will serve on the ASAE Board, and two of the four selected will also serve on the ASAE Foundation Board.

Each grant recipient will receive $10,000, and they will be recognized during ASAE’s 2018 Great Ideas Conference, March 11–13, at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, CO.
