ASAE Technology Conference Emphasizes Innovation, Potential Disruptions, Opportunities for Association Industry

WASHINGTON—From March 11-13, more than 600 association executives and industry partners will gather in Colorado Springs to evolve ideas into action at ASAE’s 2018 Great Ideas Conference at The Broadmoor. Participants can choose from over 60 idea labs, two executive leadership workshops, a Women Executives Forum, and two keynotes. New formats for this year’s conference include learning circles and leadership intensives.
ASAE Foundation Undertakes New Content Strategy Research Project

WASHINGTON—ASAE Foundation has recently launched a new research project called, “Association Content Strategies for a Changing World.” It will explore how association leaders are navigating the shifting content development and management landscape. Not only will the project look at the positive impacts of strategic approaches to content, but it will also examine the emerging challenges organizations face when creating content and its dissemination.
ASAE Foundation Names Two Universities To Receive Scholarly Research in Association Management Grants

WASHINGTON—ASAE Foundation names two university programs that are receiving research grants as part of the Scholarly Research in Association Management Grants Program (SRGP). The SRGP provides lead investigators with funds to conduct research on a cross-section of topics relevant to nonprofit management and member-based associations. Each recipient will receive a $7,500 grant that starts in mid-August and lasts for one year.

The board passed the budget for Fiscal Year 2018 (FY 18).

ASAE Announces the 2017-2019 DELP Class

WASHINGTON—ASAE has selected 12 scholars for the 2017–2019 Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP) class. DELP is a two-year program that supports individuals from under-represented identity groups to advance into the ranks of leadership in the association management profession. DELP scholars participate in an accelerated leadership program of education, mentoring, and volunteer service in the association community.

ASAE Seeking Nominations for Board Positions

WASHINGTON—ASAE launches the call for association professionals and industry partners to apply for open positions on the ASAE and the ASAE Foundation Board of Directors to help lead the association dedicated to furthering the profession of association management. There are six open positions: Secretary-Treasurer and five At Large Directors (four At Large and one Industry Partner). All directors selected will serve on the ASAE Board and two of the four selected will also serve on the ASAE Foundation Board.

WASHINGTON—A new ASAE Foundation report, Tech Success for Associations: Balancing IT maturity, readiness, and expectation for a satisfying, sustainable future, paints a picture of association performance against effective technology application, as well as insights into member and staff technology abilities and expectations. It also provides a vision of what associations need to do for the future. ASAE Foundation, in partnership with DelCor Technology Solutions and in collaboration with research firm Rockbridge Associates, worked on the comprehensive study.
